iPhone: Setting up a hotspot - here's how you need to proceed

In many public places you have the possibility to access WLAN networks. However, if no public network is accessible, you can get on the Internet with a smartphone via your mobile network. If you also want to surf with your laptop, set up a hotspot with your iPhone to use the mobile Internet.

How to set up a hotspot on iPhone

To benefit from your mobile data on the go even with your laptop, set up a hotspot on your iPhone. Connect to this hotspot with your laptop, use the mobile Internet of your smartphone to surf the Internet.

1. Go to the Settings app on your iPhone.
2. Then click on the option "Personal Hotspot".
3. Activate this option by clicking on the switch to the right of it so that it lights up green.
4. Underneath you will find the entry "WLAN password". Click on it.
5. Now enter a sequence of numbers of your choice in the text field. Achten Sie darauf, Zeichen, Zahlen und Buchstaben zu verwenden, um das Passwort sicherer zu machen.
6. Klicken Sie zur Bestätigung oben rechts auf „Fertig“.
7. Suchen Sie nun mit Ihrem Laptop nach WLAN-Netzwerken.
8. Ist der Hotspot eingeschaltet, erscheint hier nun der Name Ihres iPhones. Wählen Sie dieses aus und geben Sie das zuvor vergebene Passwort ein.
9. Hat alles geklappt, sind Sie jetzt mit dem iPhone verbunden und können ins Internet gehen.
