Asus Zenfone 6: Airplay - how to use it

By default, Airplay is not available on the Asus Zenfone 6. However, with the help of installing additional apps on the device, it is still possible to make the new Zenfone 6 Airplay-enabled. We explain the necessary procedure here.

As Airplay was originally developed for iOS devices, Airplay is not available on the Asus Zenfone 6 by default. Nevertheless, in order to use Airplay to stream files such as videos, photos, or music tracks to your TV, you will need additional hardware and software.

1. In addition to an Apple TV that you need to connect to your TV, you will also need to install the "AllCast" app on the Asus Zenfone 6.
2. Once you have installed and launched the app on your Asus smartphone, please wait for it to recognize the Apple TV.
3. Now you can select the files to stream on your Zenfone 6 and send them to the Apple TV.

How to receive data via Airplay from an iPhone or iPad

If you want to send files on your Asus Zenfone 6 not only via Airplay, but also receive them yourself, the procedure is slightly different. For this, you need the Kodi application and must set up your Asus smartphone as an Airplay receiver. This is easily possible after successfully installing Kodi on the device by going to "Settings" > "Network" in the Kodi app and activating Airplay. Once Airplay is set up on the Zenfone 6, select the files you want to transfer on the iPhone or iPad and tap "Kodi".
