Android Q: Status bar icons - features

On Android Q devices, there are numerous icons designed to inform you about the current state of the device. Not all icons are clear, but it can be important to know what they mean. Besides the icons, there is no explanation of what the characters say about the system.

What the status bar icons mean on Android Q

If you have an Android Q device, you will be shown icons over and over again. These give you an overview of the current state of your device. However, this is only useful if you know the meaning of the characters. Since some icons are self-explanatory, only the icons whose meaning is not obvious at first glance will be explained below.
  1. The sign with a rectangle and two differently sized vertical lines on each side means that the device is set to "vibrate". All sounds are turned off.
  2. If the WLAN sign is white filled with an exclamation mark, then this means that the WLAN is activated, but disturbed. The WLAN sign with a small phone tells you that a WLAN hotspot is active.
  3. The Bluetooth sign with a dark background says that the function is enabled.
