SEO stands for "Search Engine Optimization", which means search engine optimization in German. Thus, the goal is to achieve online presence, generate traffic on the website and improve the Google ranking.Thus, SEO includes everything around the technical optimization of the website and, together with search engine advertising (SEA), forms the search engine marketing (SEM).

What is OnPage and OffPage optimization?

In the context of SEO, OnPage- and OffPage optimization play an important role. The former is about improving the website technically and structurally, but especially in terms of content. The goal here is again to meet the Google ranking criteria to appear high in the search results.
  1. Special importance is attributed to the content of the website. The more interesting and appealing it is and the more accurately it matches the search query, the more likely it is that the user will click on the website.
  2. That is why it is particularly important to first perform a keyword analysis and select the appropriate keyword, under which the website can then also be found.
  3. The OffPage optimization is often referred to as "OffSite Optimization" and concerns not the changes to the website itself, but its external factors.
  4. Mainly, the concentration in the OffPage optimization is to generate backlinks, as these represent a heavily weighted ranking factor and are used as a measure for the assessment of a page.
