Delete your Netflix account - how to end your subscription

If you no longer use your Netflix account, cancel your subscription in the account settings. However, your account will remain after that. By contacting customer service, you can delete your Netflix account.

How to delete your Netflix account

Before you can delete Netflix, you must first cancel your Netflix subscription. Saved data, such as the watchlist or the continue watching feature, will then be automatically deleted after ten months. Do you want to remove this data directly after the cancellation and delete the account completely, this succeeds via customer service.

1. Click on the Netflix website top right on your profile icon.
2. Select the menu item "Account".
3. Directly under the category name "Membership and Billing" you will find the button "Cancel Membership", click this.
4. It opens a new window in which you must confirm the cancellation. Do this by clicking on "Complete cancellation". You will then receive confirmation of the cancellation by e-mail.
5. Now contact customer service by sending an e-mail to [email protected]. It is important that you use the email address that is also stored in your Netflix account. Ask in the mail to delete your Netflix account.

This is what happens if you only cancel and do not delete

Your data, such as watchlists and ratings, will be stored for another ten months after cancellation. Via the profile management in the account settings you have the possibility to remove the title history, ratings and reviews you have written.You can also remove complete profiles via the profile management as long as it is not the main profile.
