Zoom: Share presentation - this is how sharing works

If you want to share a presentation with other participants in Zoom, it's easy to do so using screen sharing. The useful feature is available in the desktop application as well as in the mobile app and browser version of the communication tool.

Zoom: Share presentation via screen sharing

Using screen sharing in Zoom, you can not only share your entire screen, but also target specific windows and programs. For example, this allows you to share a PowerPoint presentation with other participants in a Zoom conference. Follow these steps to share a presentation using the desktop application or the browser version of Zoom:
  1. Click the "Share Screen" button in the menu bar during an ongoing Zoom call or conference. If necessary, the function must be enabled by the call leader.
  2. Select the window, application, or screen on which the presentation is located in the overview.
  3. Click "Share" to start screen sharing and "Stop" to end the transfer again.

How to share a presentation via app

Using Zoom via the mobile app, start sharing as follows:
  1. As in the other Zoom versions, tap "Share" in the menu bar during a call or conference.
  2. Since you can't share a specific app in the Zoom app, you need to share the entire screen. Once the share is up and running, you can then go to the app where the presentation is located.
  3. Tap "Launch Now" afterwards. You may still need to grant Zoom the appropriate permissions before the screen sharing begins.
  4. Tap "Stop" in the menu bar to end the transfer.
