Raft: "The First Chapter" - all info on the new story mode

For a long time, Raft players in Early Access had to make do with the open-world sandbox. In the meantime, that has changed, as with "The First Chapter" the beginning of the story is playable.

Exploration, combat, survival: "The First Chapter" was well received by Raft players.

"The First Chapter" was released in December 2019 as a free update.

"The First Chapter": How to get to the story

However, "The First Chapter" cannot be found directly in the menu. Instead, you'll find the story in-game, and you'll have to get there first:
  • To do this, you'll have to play until you can build the receiver and antenna. This we have explained here.
  • Because this will allow you to navigate to the first location of the story. This is a floating signal tower.
  • Enemies there are not. Have you found all the clues and completed the place, you get the navigation to the second place.
  • There awaits you a stranded giant yacht called Vasagatan. Inside it is dark and you get to deal with rats. As a reward, you get the construction plans for the engine and steering wheel - your raft is thus no longer dependent on sails and wind.
  • After completion, you will receive the coordinates of the third and final location, the island of Balboa. This you reach best with the newly built engine, since the wind is opposite.
  • On Balboa you need to activate three radio towers, as opponents waiting bears. Since the island is very large, you should have enough water and food with you.
Also here you get a new code, but it is directly pointed out that this will only be playable with the second chapter. According to the manufacturer, this can be expected in early summer 2020. "The First Chapter" thus consists of three locations, which give a good foretaste of the future of the story mode and estimate several hours.
