Confluence: sort table - how to do it

Confluence is an application used worldwide to create enterprise wikis. The use of tables enables the structuring and listing of data content. So far, it is not possible to sort a table in edit mode. You can find out to what extent you can sort a table here.

Sort table in Confluence: What are the options?

In Excel, you can easily sort tables with just a few clicks. While this is generally also possible in Confluence, it is only possible in view mode:

1. Open a page with the table in view mode instead of edit mode.
2. In the header of each column, you will find small "arrow icons"
3. Click on the arrows to sort the contents of the table as you wish.
4. Once you return to edit mode, however, any view mode sorting will not be applied.

One way to apply the changes of a table sorted in view mode in edit mode is to copy and paste the contents anywhere. However, this works only for simple table contents. If you want to sort tables in edit mode as well, the additional use of paid add-ons for Confluence, such as Table Filter, is necessary.
