Record music on the PC: How to use Audacity

If you stream music on your PC frequently, you have the option to record it as well. The easiest way to do this is with the help of a suitable program such as Audacity, with which you not only record music for free, but also edit it.

1. To use Audacity to record music, please start the program first and click "Display recording level" in the upper right corner.
2. The program will then show you if there is already an active music stream. If this is the case, click the red record button on the top left to start recording music.
3. If you want to stop the recording, click either on the "Yellow Square" or the Pause button.
4. Finally, you still have the option to save the recorded music on your computer by going to "File" > "Export Sound" and selecting a format and location.

How to record sound with your PC

For Windows users, the music recording is alternatively possible without installing additional software. To do this, open the Windows Start menu, search for "Voice Recorder" and open the corresponding program. Then click on the blue microphone button in the program to start the recording and end it by clicking on the stop icon. The recording will then be saved automatically.
