iPad restart: How to use it to solve problems
You perform an iPad restart by pressing a key combination of the Home button and the Standby button. This forces a restart of the device, which fixes problems like a frozen screen. If the restart doesn't work this way, there is an alternative method.
How to use it to restart your iPad
A restart can help with several iPad problems. If your iPad's display is frozen, the device is very slow to respond, or there are connectivity issues, a restart will usually fix them. A restart forces the iPad to restart, but unlike a hard reset, no data is lost.- To perform a restart, press the Home button and the Power button on your iPad.
- Hold them down for at least ten seconds until the Apple logo appears on the display.
- Release both buttons and wait for the iPad to restart.
- If you have an iPad without a Home button, press the Volume Up button briefly for the restart.
- Then press the Volume Down button, release it again and hold down the Power button until the device restarts.
