Android: Block number - how to block a contact

If you don't want a certain person to send you messages or call you, you have the option to block the number. This option is offered by every Android device. If the person is blocked, they are usually not informed about it.

How to block a phone number on an Android device

If you no longer want to receive calls and messages from a certain person, you can block the number. For this, all Android devices provide a suitable function.

1. Go to the phone app on your smartphone. This is marked with a phone handset icon.
2. Then click on your "call list".
3. Select the number you want to block.
4. Now you can select the option "Block" or "Report spam".
5. If the visual mailbox is not supported by your smartphone, then it may happen that you receive mailbox messages from this number despite blocking.

Unblock number

If you want to allow messages from a blocked number again, you can unblock it accordingly.

1. For this, open the phone app on your smartphone again.

3. Gehen Sie danach auf „Einstellungen“ und wählen Sie die Option „Blockierte Nummern“.
4. Suchen Sie in der Liste die Nummer, die Sie wieder zulassen möchten und klicken Sie daneben auf das „X“-Zeichen.
5. Bestätigen Sie die Auswahl mit „Blockierung aufheben“.
