Rust for PS4 and Xbox: What is known about the release

For some time now it has been official: Rust will also be released for Sony and Microsoft consoles. We summarize what is known so far about the release of the survival hit for PS4 and Xbox One.

Eternal Twitch hit: Rust keeps the gaming world in suspense - and soon on consoles, too.

Under normal circumstances, Rust should have been released for consoles as early as 2020, but Facepunch was unable to keep to this plan due to pandemics.

Rust release for PS4 and Xbox: Is there a date?

Currently it looks as follows:
  • A fixed date has not yet been named, however, the release should still take place in 2021.
  • Fittingly, invitations for the closed beta were sent out from March 1, 2021.
  • Rust will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The two next-gen consoles should also be able to play Rust via backwards compatibility.
  • In the meantime, the age rating was also announced ("M" for "Mature"). This may be taken as another sign that the release is no longer too far away.
In addition, there is now an official trailer for the console versions. This can be found here on YouTube.
