VoIP telephony is widely used because its benefits speak for themselves. On Discord, this feature is one of the home remedies.

Discord: Start voice call only possible among friends

Follow these steps:

1. Open the chat window with the person you want to call.
2. Click on the phone receiver in the top right corner.
3. If you are not friends with the person, you will now receive a message that voice calls are only possible among friendly contacts. You can send the request directly at this point.

The voice call starts as soon as your contact has accepted the call. Special voice input settings, such as push-to-talk, still apply on this channel.
