MHW Iceborne: How to defeat the Beotodus

The Beotodus is not the most difficult monster in Iceborne, but it is the first one you will encounter in the new map. For Iceborne newbies, we therefore summarize how to grab the frosty thing by the horns.

If you count yourself a veteran in Monster Hunter World, you won't spend too long in Beotodus. But this is far from true for all players.

MHW Iceborne: Beotodus and the fight against time

Before your fight against the Beotodus, this info is helpful:

• As an ice monster, the Beotodus is particularly weak against fire. Alternatively, thunder weapons work (two star weakness), water is given one star and thus not recommended.
• In terms of status weaknesses, the Beotodus is sensitive to explosions with three stars. Poison, sleep, paralysis and stun are given with two stars.
• Consume a hot drink before the fight, otherwise the cold will eat away at your stamina.
• In battle, it is important to stay alert, as the Beotodus acts quickly. Pay special attention when he dives into the snow, as he shortly after with a jump attack.
• However, you can interrupt this action with scream capsules - memories of Diablos are awakened.
• The Beotodus fight is a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with the new grappling hook mechanism, as this offers many possibilities and facilitates the fight.

Besides that, the Beotodus doesn't offer too special challenges, except for the time: many players take quite a long time on their first attempts, so the limit of 50 minutes, which also applies to most fights in Iceborne, can become a threat.
