Mobile phone: Change PIN - how to change the lock code

Whoever has a smartphone usually protects it with a PIN. If you want to change the code, both Android and iOS offer the options to do so. You can adjust the PIN, the SIM PIN and even the entire lock function via the settings.

How to change the PIN on your phone?

If you want to change the PIN on your smartphone, it depends on whether you use Android or iOS.

1. On Android, you can change the PIN in the settings. To do this, first open the Settings app by tapping the corresponding app icon.
2. Now go on to "Device Security" > "Other Security Settings" > "Set up SIM locks" > "Change PIN or SIM card" if you want to change the PIN of your sim card.
3. You will now be prompted to enter the current PIN and then confirm the new PIN twice.
4. The cell phone PIN can also be changed in a similar way in the settings under "Security" > "Display lock". Here you can also set a different lock function.
5. In iOS it behaves quite similarly. Öffnen Sie zunächst die Einstellungen, indem Sie das entsprechende App-Symbol antippen.
6. Nun gehen Sie weiter auf „Telefon“ > „SIM-PIN“. Wollen Sie den Sperr-PIN ändern, geht das in den Einstellungen unter „Touch ID & Code“.
