The Witcher: Sales figures of the series at a glance

When The Witcher was released in 2007, no one could have guessed the success story it would set in motion. More than ten years later, the series has found its place in video game history. We therefore take a look at the sales figures.

No end in sight? The Witcher is still selling well today.

The story of the taciturn Geralt of Riva has captivated millions of gamers. The upcoming Netflix adaptation could further boost sales figures.

The Witcher: Sales figures in proud dimensions

The success of The Witcher is reflected in the following figures:
  • In total, so including all three parts, a whole 40 million copies of The Witcher have been sold since the release in 2007.
  • About half of these, namely over 20 million copies, goes alone on the bill of the third part called Wild Hunt.
  • The leading platform for the game developed over the years the PC, after initially the PlayStation 4 recorded the most sales.
And it can be assumed that this story is not yet over. Because in December, the Netflix adaptation will hit TV in the form of a series - which could give the franchise's popularity another boost, which should please both the books' author (Andrzej Sapkowski) and the game's developers (CD Projekt Red).
