WoW Classic: Interesting facts and figures at a glance

After more than a year of WoW Classic, here are some numbers and statistics on the revival's success. Read about which servers have the largest population and which classes are the most popular.

Successful comeback: WoW Classic attracted veterans and newcomers alike.

With the release of WoW Classic in August 2019, the MMORPG briefly registered a doubling of subscription numbers. However, the numbers did not remain at this level for long.

WoW Classic: How populated are the servers one year after release?

That's why it's interesting to take a look at the server population more than a year later:
  • As of August 2020, one year after release, the US server Whitemane (PVP) counted the most active players with nearly 10,000.
  • Among the EU servers, Gehennas (PVP) came out on top with 8,170 players. Venoxis leads the German list with 7,311 players.
  • Both Horde and Alliance, the most popular classes are Warrior, Mage and Priest (in that order).
Since WoW Classic is divided into six endgame phases, of which the sixth still follows, there is still motivation to stay on the ball at least for a few months. However, the fourth quarter of 2020 will also see the release of the new Shadowlands expansion, which will keep many players busy.
