Wow Classic: Eight races divided into two factions

The two factions of WoW offer you four races each in Classic:

• Hordes: Undead, Orcs, Tauren, Trolls
• Alliance: Humans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Night Elves

The total of eight races seem quite clear, considering how much the selection was increased with the expansions. But it is precisely this simplicity that is supposed to make the appeal of WoW Classic and as the storm on the servers shows, the calculation seems to work out.
