Pages superscript numbers and characters: How it works

In Pages, you can superscript numbers and characters to display them scaled down and above the text. You can also superscript multiple characters and whole words. There is no direct superscript command in the toolbar. Instead, you need to select the function under "Format".

How to superscript numbers and characters in Pages

In Pages, you won't find a command in the toolbar to superscript numbers or characters. Nevertheless, to get the desired result, you don't have to turn to another program. You can find the necessary button under "Format" in the main menu. Using the "Superscript" command you can superscript numbers and single characters or whole words. The selected area will then be reduced in size and displayed above the lowercase letters. Hochgestellte Zeichen werden oft für wissenschaftliche Formeln und mathematische Gleichungen benötigt.

So gehen Sie vor

1. Starten Sie Pages.
2. Öffnen Sie ein Dokument oder legen Sie ein neues an.
3. Markieren Sie die Textstelle, die hochgestellt werden soll.
4. Wählen Sie oben im Menü „Format“ und dann „Schrift“.
5. Klicken Sie auf „Schriftlinie“ und wählen Sie dann „Hochgestellt“.
6. Wählen Sie über „Höher“ oder „Tiefer“ aus, ob der Text über oder unter der Zeile angezeigt werden soll.
7. Um Text wieder in normaler Größe anzuzeigen, klicken Sie nochmal auf dieselbe Schaltfläche.
