Pages: superscript numbers - how it works

In certain situations it is necessary to superscript or subscript text. Especially in the preparation of scientific papers, subscript text is used very often. If you work with Pages, you can easily use this feature. All you have to do is format the text accordingly.

Superscripting and subscripting text

The easiest way to do this is by using Pages' internal formatting features. To do this, highlight the text you want to edit and then format it using the menu.

1. Open Pages and load the document where you want to format the text.
2. Now jump to the area of text you want to either superscript or subscript.
3. Highlight it by holding down the left mouse button and then switch to the menu bar above the text.
4. Within the menu bar, select the "Format" item and continue navigating to "Style".
5. In the "Text" section, click the gear icon and then click the "Font Line" pop-up menu.
6. Now the "Superscript" and "Subscript" options are available.
7. Um nach der Formatierung wieder normalen Text zu schreiben, müssen Sie erneut in die „Schriftlinie“ wechseln und den Modus auf „Standard“ stellen.

Geht das auch schneller?

Wechseln Sie im Menü zu „Darstellung“ und weiter zu „Symbolleiste anpassen“. Nun bewegen Sie einfach „Hochgestellt“ und „Tiefgestellt“ in die Symbolleiste und klicken abschließend auf „Fertig“.
