Excel: Superscript numbers - bring numbers into focus

If you want to bring numbers into focus, superscripting them can be a good way to do it. You can do this not only with single numbers, but also with whole rows, making projects much clearer.

How to superscript numbers

Even large projects and those you share with other people can quickly become cluttered. To highlight rows and numbers, you can superscript them.
  1. Open Excel on your PC or laptop and select the Excel sheet you want to work on.
  2. Enter the numbers or letters you want to superscript. You can also pre-fill an entire row.
  3. Hold down the mouse and select the numbers and letters.
  4. However, you must make sure that you only select the characters and not the entire row, otherwise Excel will not be able to perform the function.
  5. Use a right-click on the selection so that the context menu opens.
  6. Select the option "Format cell". Now the options you have appear.
  7. Check "superscript" and confirm your selection with "Ok" or by pressing the Enter key.

Why superscript and not down?

If you want to clarify several, but different aspects, then you can also put the numbers down. To do this, proceed as described above and check the "subscript" box. This way you can provide even more clarity.
