PC starts, but no image - how to find the cause
Few things are more annoying than when your PC doesn't work properly at startup. If you notice that the power button flashes and hear classic startup sounds, but no image appears, the question arises as to the cause of the error. In fact, a black screen can have various reasons.
What to do if the PC starts but shows no picture?
A black screen when starting the PC is a common problem and can have many causes. To fix the error, take the following actions:- If you are using a desktop PC, the first thing to check is that the monitor is properly connected to the computer and all cables are fully plugged in.
- Also make sure that the monitor is connected to the mains and power is running through the socket used.
- Test whether the screen is switched on - you can usually tell by a green light on the edge of the monitor.
What else can it be that no image appears?
If external circumstances such as the power supply and integrity of the cables are secured, there are a number of other possibilities for the black screen:- Possibly the wrong image input source is selected on the monitor. Check this via the monitor's menu, which you can usually control with buttons on the sides of the case.
- Remove any connected hardware. If this is defective, it can trigger problems on the PC.
- If nothing helps, perform a hard reset.
