What is Speedport Pro

The Speedport Pro is a router model that Telekom offers its customers for use. In detail, the Speedport Pro is a hybrid router that combines several technologies to access the Internet. For example, in addition to DSL, the Speedport Pro also uses the LTE mobile communications standard for a faster WLAN connection of up to 9,600 Mbps. In addition, the Speedport Pro is compatible with Telekom's IP-based connection and provides you with a stable WLAN signal in all rooms thanks to mesh technology. If you would like to use the Speedport Pro, you can either rent it for 9.95 euros per month or purchase it for a one-time fee of 399 euros.

Speedport: How to set up the Telekom router

Before you can access the Internet with the Speedport Pro via your IP or hybrid connection, it is necessary to connect and set up the device. If you are using a hybrid connection from Telekom, first insert the SIM card into the slot on the bottom of the Speedport Pro.

1. Then connect the Speedport Pro to the power supply and connect the device to your phone jack using a DSL cable.
2. Open the configuration page in the browser at "http://speedport.ip" and log in with the device password.
3. Then follow the further instructions of the setup wizard to set up your Internet access, the WLAN and the telephone connection.
