What is a Speedport router? We explain

If you are a Telekom customer, you have probably heard of the term Speedport. In general, this is the brand under which Telekom sells its routers. You can find out here which Speedport models are available and what they cost.

What is a Speedport router

Speedport is the name under which Telekom offers all its router models. Which Speedport you need depends on which connection you have or which Telekom rate plan you use.

1. If you have taken out the Magenta SmartHome rate plan, we recommend using the new Speedport Smart 3. This Speedport model not only has several telephone and LAN connections as well as WLAN, but also allows you to control lamps, heaters and music systems.
2. If high speed is important to you when surfing the Internet, you can achieve up to 2,100 MBit/s with the Speedport W925V. The Speedport W925V supports ISDN and IP telephony and can also be used on a fiber-optic connection.
3. Also suitable for IP-based telecom connection is the Speedport Pro. This has an LTE function in addition to DSL, allowing you to surf the WLAN network at up to 9,600 Mbps.

These costs are for a Speedport router

To use a Speedport router, you have two options. Telekom offers you the various router models either to buy or to rent. If you decide to rent a Speedport, this will incur monthly costs of between 4.94 euros and 9.95 euros. If you prefer to buy the router, you will have to pay 159 euros for the Speedport Smart 3, 199 euros for the Speedport W925V and 399 euros for the Speedport Pro.
