Android: Add and manage favorites - here's how

The larger your contact list is, the more practical are additional functions like the favorites bar. With this, you have particularly quick access to contacts that you call frequently. We show you how to add contacts in Android.

Your Favorites list is very useful for quick access to contacts.

You call some contacts more often than others. That's exactly what the Favorites list is for: it lets you call your favorite contacts with a flick of your finger.

Android: Adding favorites made easy

To add contacts to favorites, follow these steps:

1. Open the Contacts app and tap a contact you want to make a favorite.
2. You'll find a star icon next to the name at the top. Tap this, the contact is marked as a favorite.

The added contacts are immediately under your favorites. The overview of your favorites can be found in the phone app.

How to remove contacts from the favorites list

If there are contacts in your favorites list that you do not want to have there, you can easily remove them:

1. In the favorites list, tap for about a second on the contact you want to remove.
2. The contact is now highlighted and more options appear at the top of the bar. Tap on the trash to remove the contact.
3. Alternatively, tap again on the star at the corresponding contact in the Contacts app.

And don't worry: The contact will not be removed from your contact list this way, but only from the Favorites list.
