EM 2021: Which teams are the favorites? An overview

France is considered the strongest national team in the world at the moment and is therefore the big favorite for the European Championship 2021 - or is it? Our guide shows how the bookmakers' figures see the balance of power.

German soccer has had changeable years, and the glory of the 2014 World Cup title has long since faded into the background. All the more interesting is what the bare figures say about the forecast for the European Championship 2021.

EM 2021: This is how the list of favorites looks according to betting odds

The bookmakers' figures currently read as follows:

• The best odds on average across all bookmakers have England with about 6.0.
• In second place follows Belgium with 6.5.
• For world champion France remains only 3rd place with 6.75. However, it should be noted that the odds differences in the top 3 are only very small.
• With some distance then follows the reinvigorated Spain (about 8.5).
• In 5th place follows the DFB team with very similar odds (9.0).
• Directly behind them are the Netherlands (10.0).
• It follows the reigning European champion Portugal, whose odds, however, are already a good bit lower (11.5).
• Little weaker is rated Italy (13.0).

First after that, the odds drop enormously - Croatia (33.0) leads the "Best of the Rest", with further large distance follow teams like Denmark (70.0), Ukraine (80.0) and Switzerland (90.0), all of which will probably not play for the tournament victory.Measured against the disastrous performance of the German eleven at the 2018 World Cup, the current classification even looks good. So there is hope that Germany will continue to play an important role after the group stage.
