iPhone Parental Controls - How to Set Them Up

A parental control for your iPhone is important if you want to keep control over what content your kids get to see or what features can be used.

How do you create a parental control for your iPhone?

The iPhone has many features that are interesting, even for children. It allows chatting with friends and surfing the web. However, some content and services on the Internet are not suitable for children. To prevent your children from using adult or paid services or changing anything on your iPhone's settings, you should first install parental controls.

Parentalizing your iPhone

To set up parental controls on your iPhone, you only need a few minutes:
  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone and navigate to the Screen Time menu item.
  2. Select "Continue" and specify whether it is your device or your child's iPhone.
  3. Then set a code so that the parental controls on the iPhone can be removed if desired.
  4. Select "General > Screen Time" in the iPhone menu and press "Restrictions". You must enter the code to be able to open the menu.
  5. Now you can configure the parental control individually. Under the items "Allow", "Permitted content", "Privacy" and "Allow changes" you can determine which functions and content your children have access to.
If you want to deactivate the parental controls at a later time, you will need your security code to enter the "Settings" area. To deactivate, tap on "Deactivate restrictions.
