Once you have installed and set up the program, please navigate to "System" > "Encrypt System Partition/Drive" in the program's menu bar and select "Normal" as the encryption method.
  1. Click "Next" and select "Encrypt the Windows system partition" option.
  2. In the next step, select "AES" as the encryption method and set a password for the partition backup.
  3. After TrueCrypt generates random data for encryption, you will be prompted to create a rescue CD. To do this, first select a location such as a CD, USB stick or external hard drive and save the CD image there.
  4. To prevent your encryption from being bypassed, it is recommended that you securely erase the hard drive. Wait until this process is complete and then click "Test" to restart Windows.
  5. Enter the password you set earlier and click "Encrypt" to complete the process.
