To encrypt the hard drive on your Windows 7 PC, you need the TrueCrypt program. Download it for free from the Internet and run the EXE file of the program to install it. Then run TrueCrypt and set German as the language for the user interface.

Once you have installed and set up the program, please navigate to "System" > "Encrypt System Partition/Drive" in the program's menu bar and select "Normal" as the encryption method.

1. Click "Next" and select "Encrypt the Windows system partition" option.

3. After TrueCrypt generates random data for encryption, you will be prompted to create a rescue CD. To do this, first select a location such as a CD, USB stick or external hard drive and save the CD image there.
