Setting Up GMX Email: How to open the virtual mailbox

At GMX you can create an e-mail box and thus communicate by mail. The basic package is available free of charge. In addition to your actual e-mail address, GMX offers you additional fun domains.

How to set up your mailbox

To successfully open your email account, simply follow the steps below:

1. Open the homepage of GMX and click on "Register".
2. In the next step, you can choose one of the packages. Decide either for the free FreeMail package, for ProMail or TopMail by clicking "Register Now" under the offer.
3. After that, a questionnaire will open where you enter your personal data such as name and address.
4. Select a desired name for your mail address and enter it in the field provided. If the address already exists, alternatives will be suggested to you.
5. After that, set a password and fill out the security question correctly.
6. In the last step you only have to click on "I agree. Create email account now".

Remember to provide an additional contact option such as phone number or an alternative mail address. This can be useful if, for example, you have forgotten your password.

If you decide to create an account with GMX, you can access additional features. For example, an online calendar is available to you, which is always up to date thanks to automatic synchronization on each of your devices. So that you don't have to save your contacts externally, GMX offers you an address book in which you can enter any addresses.
