MacBook right-click - with this trick it works
When you switch from a Windows laptop to a MacBook, the keyboard can be unfamiliar at the beginning. Special characters are in different places and there is no longer a key or two. The new touchpad can also take some getting used to if you want to perform a right-click, for example.
How to perform a right-click on MacBook
On a MacBook, but also on newer laptops, there is usually a touchpad below the keyboard by default. This replaces the mouse, so you can easily control your system. However, unlike a normal mouse, a MacBook doesn't have unique buttons for a right or left click. Thus, it can be difficult to select certain content or open menus at the beginning. If you want to right-click, as you would on a Windows laptop, you can do so using a keyboard shortcut.- Place the mouse over the content or other location you want to right-click.
- Then hold down the "CTRL" key on the keyboard. Then click on the touchpad to right-click the object.
- Use the "Apple" icon in the upper left corner and then "System Preferences" and "Trackpad" to adjust settings for your touchpad. About the option "Secondary click" so you also perform a right click.
- Note that the touchpad is also multi-touch capable. So you can enable the option "Move with three fingers" via the system settings.
