Resetting Xiaomi MI 9 - how to do it

If a smartphone causes problems or is to be sold, you should reset it. This will erase all data and reset the phone to factory settings. You can also reset the Xiaomi MI 9. You have several options to restore the factory settings.

How to reset the Xiaomi MI 9

Before you reset the smartphone, you should make a backup so that all data is backed up.
  1. Go to Settings and then continue to "Users" > "Backup and Reset".
  2. Activate here the option "Back up my data".
  3. Now also go to the settings and then on "Backup account" > "Add account" and log in with your Google account, if this has not already been done.
  4. If you want to reset the phone to factory settings, go to "Backup and Reset" again and tap here on "Erase all data (factory settings)".
  5. Once you confirm the security prompt, the phone will be reset.
If the Xiaomi no longer start, you can also reset the smartphone via the Android Recovery menu. If the phone is turned off, press and hold the power button and the volume down button until the recovery menu appears. Now select "wipe data / Factory reset" and confirm the process with the power button. After restarting the phone, the device should work normally again. If this is not the case, there is a more serious error.
