Bypassing HDCP copy protection - this option is available

HDCP is a "High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection". In order to effectively comply with the copy protection, all devices used must support the standard during data transmission. If this is not the case, errors can occur.

How to bypass HDCP copy protection

An error with HDCP copy protection occurs primarily when not all devices support it. Usually, the protection is already activated at the factory. To avoid errors, it may therefore be necessary to bypass it. There are various options for this.
  1. In most source devices, it is possible to disable HDCP. This includes, for example, game consoles such as the PlayStation 4. To do this, go to the system settings of the devices and look for the entry "Enable HDCP" and turn off the entspreche option.
  2. If this option is not given, however, you must bypass the copy protection directly. Note, however, that you violate copyright law in the process. Therefore, this approach is not recommended. The HDMI splitters, with which this is possible, may also not be sold in Germany.
  3. Another option can be an HDMI-to-analog connection. However, this is also a very cumbersome solution.
  4. If you need to bypass HDCP to avoid various errors, then you should contact the manufacturer of the devices. Eventuell kann dieser Ihnen bei der Lösung des Problems weiterhelfen.
