Excel: Insert multiple rows - this is how it works
Not infrequently, it happens that you not only want to adjust, move or insert individual entries in a table, but directly insert multiple rows or entire ranges. Fortunately, Excel gives you the opportunity to do just that. The program helps you fill the right cells.
Excel: Insert multiple rows - here's how
To insert multiple rows, you first need to know where the insertion should take place. Note that underlying cells can also be affected.- First, select all the cells you want to copy and right-click on the area.
- Now select "Copy" or "Cut".
- Now click in the cell that should serve as the new top row and click Paste.
- Now all copied cells are automatically pasted into the underlying cell.
This you should know
- Independently of whether there is data within the cells or not, the cells are copied to the desired location and overwrite the contents.
- If the cells to be copied contain formulas, the links are broken and must be created again.
