Excel: Insert multiple rows - this is how it works

Not infrequently, it happens that you not only want to adjust, move or insert individual entries in a table, but directly insert multiple rows or entire ranges. Fortunately, Excel gives you the opportunity to do just that. The program helps you fill the right cells.

Excel: Insert multiple rows - here's how

To insert multiple rows, you first need to know where the insertion should take place. Note that underlying cells can also be affected.
  1. First, select all the cells you want to copy and right-click on the area.
  2. Now select "Copy" or "Cut".
  3. Now click in the cell that should serve as the new top row and click Paste.
  4. Now all copied cells are automatically pasted into the underlying cell.

This you should know

  1. Independently of whether there is data within the cells or not, the cells are copied to the desired location and overwrite the contents.
  2. If the cells to be copied contain formulas, the links are broken and must be created again.
