FileZilla: Insecure server, it doesn't support FTP over TLS
Do you get the error message "Insecure server, it doesn't support FTP (File Transfer Protocol) over TLS (Transport Layer Security)" when you start FileZilla? This means that there are problems with client to server encryption and therefore the connection has been disabled.
Message: "Insecure server, it does not support FTP over TLS"
The error message means that the connection between the FTP client and the FTP server is not encrypted. So data is transferred unencrypted. This is critical, because the user name and password can be easily tapped. To still be able to connect to the FTP server, you need to make a setting in FileZilla's Sever Manager. Follow these steps to establish a connection:- Open FlieZilla and call the server manager via the navigation.
- Select the server you want to connect to.
- Change the encryption in the drop-down menu to "Use only unencrypted FTP (insecure)".
- Confirm the entry with "OK".
