Setting up Ubuntu FTP servers - these options are available
FTP servers can be used to store and share files with others. It is important to have a current version of the Ubuntu operating system when setting it up. You will also need an FTP server host to connect to. The setup consists of several steps.
How to set up an FTP server in Ubuntu
To set up an FTP server, you must first install the FTP framework. To do this, open the terminal and enter the command "sudo apt-get update". After that, run "sudo apt-get upgrade". Now that you have updated your system, install the framework using the command "sudo apt-get install vsftpd". Your server is now already accessible via "fts://(IP address)". Now you still have to set up the server.- If you want to edit the configuration, enter the command "sudo gedit /etc/vsftpd.conf" into the terminal and confirm it with the Enter key.
- To make changes and enable certain functions, you just have to remove the # sign in front of the respective line. Then save the configuration.
- Now it is necessary to restart the server. To do this, use the command "sudo service vsftpd restart". After confirming it with the Enter key, the server will be restarted. Außerdem werden alle Änderungen an der Konfiguration übernommen.
