Xbox One: Find demos and play - here's how

Many years ago, long before the Internet, demos were a popular option to test new games before buying them. Today, this is still possible and on modern consoles like the Xbox One, you can find them right in the store. However, demos are only offered for certain games.

Xbox One: Demos Clearly Listed in Store

Although demos are an important aid for many gamers when deciding what to buy, the free trial sections only appear for relatively few games. These are usually offered for download in a separate category in the online stores. Microsoft also offers you various demo versions of games. You can download and play these both via your browser and via the console. Note that demos are usually only offered for a limited time. Many developers publish them before the release date.

1. Go to the Store in the Xbox One menu.
2. There you will find a button for demos.
3. After that, you will see all available demos and can download them for free.
4. Alternatively, go to the Microsoft website. Here you can also see all the latest Xbox demos, including games like Dragon Quest, Kindom Hearts or Devil May Cry.

Naturally, demos are always limited to certain sections. However, this is enough to get a feel for gameplay, design and atmosphere. It is therefore advisable to find out if a demo is available before buying a game.
