Threema: Create a group chat - how to become a chat leader

The app Threema is similar to WhatsApp or Telegram for chatting with friends, family and co. Threema uses end-to-end encryption, which makes the chats particularly secure. If you already have Threema, you can create a group chat via the group display.

How to create a group chat

You can add up to 100 participants to a group chat in Threema. You can also assign a name and picture to the group when you create it.

1. Open the Threema app.
2. Tap the three horizontal bars in the top left corner and select "My Groups"
3. Now you can create a new group using the icon in the bottom right corner.
4. You will be given the option to add new friends. To do this, simply click on the corresponding friends so that a check mark appears behind them.
5. After clicking on "Next", you can set the group name and add a group picture.
6. The group is now created and you will be shown the group chat.
7. Tap on the group name at the top to display more information. Here you can add more people or delete the group as soon as that becomes necessary.
