Android: Receive certain calls despite silent mode

If you don't want your phone to ring in a certain situation, you can mute it. However, if there are calls that you want to answer urgently, this works despite silent mode. To do this, you must first add the contacts to your favorites.

How to receive certain calls despite silent mode in Android

To prevent your Android smartphone from starting to ring during a meeting, for example, you can mute it at any time. However, if you are expecting an important call, you can receive it despite silent mode. To do this, you must first add the contacts to your favorites and then activate the appropriate function.
  1. First go to the contact list on your Android smartphone.
  2. Select the contact in the list that you want to add to your favorites or the contact from which you want to receive calls.
  3. Then activate the star, which is located in the upper right corner. The contact now belongs to your favorites. The stone is then displayed filled in white.
  4. Do this for each desired contact.
  5. Now go to the "Settings" on your device.
  6. Select here the menu item "Do not disturb".
  7. There are now three options at the top. Select here the third item "Only important".
  8. Then go to "More settings" and select "Allow only important subbr." and then "Calls".
  9. Here tap "Only from marked contacts". Jetzt können Sie die Einstellungen verlassen.
