Set up Chromecast on your smartphone

With Chromecast, you can control your TV from your smartphone or tablet and easily stream videos or movies on it. First, however, Chromecast needs to be set up for this. We explain how to do that with your smartphone in this tip.

How to set up Chromecast using smartphone?

To set up Chromecast using smartphone, you need the latest Google Home and Google app on your phone. Furthermore, you should have access to a Google account and know your Wi-Fi password.

1. Connect Chromecast to the TV by pairing the devices via HDMI plug. Then install the Google- Home app on your smartphone.
2. Open the app. Make sure that you are in the correct WLAN. Now go on to "Add" > "Set up device" > "Add new devices". Make sure you allow the app to access your location.
3. Now the app will search for devices that need to be set up. If multiple devices are displayed, tap on the Chromecast and then tap "Next".
4. Enter the code that is now displayed on your TV into the app.
5. Now you can set up the Chromecast. To do this, simply follow the on-screen instructions that will guide you through the setup process.
