iPhone X: Restore call log - this is how it works

If you have deleted individual entries or even the entire call log on your iPhone X, there are a few ways you can restore the list. For this to work, you'll either need a recent backup of your iPhone or the help of a recovery tool.

How to restore your call log

With the recovery tool PhoneRescue, you can restore the call log on your iPhone X without a backup.

1. To do this, install the PhoneRescue software on your computer and launch it.
2. Then connect your iPhone to the computer via USB cable.
3. In PhoneRescue, click "Restore from iOS device" in the top left corner and then click "Next".
4. Select "Call log" in the navigation on the left. You will then get a list of all calls.
5. Select the deleted calls from the list and click on the Restore button at the bottom right.

You can then access the deleted entries from the call list again on your iPhone X.

Restore call list via iCloud backup

If you regularly create backups to back up the data from your iPhone, there is a possibility to restore the call list via the backup. However, note that the corresponding function must be enabled in the backup options so that the call history is included in the backup.To load a backup, connect the iPhone X to the computer via USB cable and launch iTunes. There you will find the option to restore the smartphone via a backup. It is important that you pay attention to the creation date of the backup. Depending on how old it is, data can be lost.
