How to authorize iTunes

Before you can sync content from your smartphone to your computer via iTunes, it is necessary to authorize iTunes. Only then it is also possible to play music and videos from the store. With an authorization, you allow iTunes to access all files. You have the option to authorize up to five computers.

1. Download the latest version of iTunes or update the existing one.
2. Once the installation is complete, open iTunes on the computer you want to authorize.
3. Now you need to log in with your Apple ID.
4. On a Mac, select "Account" at the top of the bar, then "Authorizations" > "Authorize this computer".
5. On a Windows PC, the "Account" option will appear in the iTunes window in the menu bar. You can display this, if necessary, with the key combination "Ctrl" + "B".
6. Now you will be asked for your password. Enter it and confirm this via the "Authorize" button.
