Photoshop: Creating transparency - this is how it is possible

For the design of your images Photoshop offers you the possibility to make individual areas of the image transparent. How you create this transparency depends on whether you want to make individual layers, areas, or the entire background transparent.

Photoshop: How to make transparency in your images

To add transparency to your images using Photoshop, there are several ways. Not only can you make the background of your image transparent, but you can also add transparency to individual layers of the image.

1. To create a transparent background, please navigate in Photoshop to "File" > "New".
2. In the window that opens, select the option "Transparent" in the "Background" area and confirm with "OK".
3. Alternatively, to make individual layers transparent, first select the corresponding layer by clicking on it in the layer list.
4. Then click on the box next to the entry "Opacity" and decrease the numerical value to make transparent.

Another way to bring transparency to your images is to create transparent drawings. To do this, select a layer and make sure that all layers below it are transparent. Then select the Erase tool from the toolbar and adjust its size and shape to your liking. Now use the Erase tool to draw an area in the image that you want to erase, and make the transparent layers below it visible.
