Photoshop: Applying filters - here's how
Photoshop offers you the use of various filters for editing your images. However, in order to apply them, it is necessary beforehand to select to which area the filter should be applied.
Photoshop: This option for applying filters is available
In Photoshop, various filters are available for you to edit your photos using the program. In doing so, you can apply a filter either to the active layer or to a smart object. To apply a filter to an entire layer, make sure that the layer is active or selected. If, on the other hand, you want to apply the filter only to a specific area of a layer or to a smart object, please select it beforehand.How to apply filters in Photoshop
Once you have selected the area or layer to which you want to apply the filter, please click on the "Filter" submenu in the menu.- Select the "Filter Gallery" entry there to view an overview of all available filters.
- To use a filter, please click on the corresponding preview image and confirm with "OK".
- To apply further filters to the selected area, please click on the "New effect layer" icon and select the desired filter.
- If you use several filters, you also have the option to change their order. Ziehen Sie den entsprechenden Filter im Dialogfeld „Filtergalerie“ hierfür einfach an die gewünschte Stelle.
- Möchten Sie einen Filter wieder entfernen, wählen Sie ihn in der Liste der angewandten Filter aus und klicken Sie auf „Ebene löschen“.
