Applying for a salary - what you need to consider
When applying for a new job, several factors come into play. These determine whether or not you will be considered for the job. Many companies already require you to state your salary expectations in the job application. The wording is particularly important here.
How to integrate your salary requirements into your application
If you are looking for a new job, then it is usually necessary to write various applications. In job postings, companies are quite specific about the requirements they have for the future employee. Many also want you to state your salary expectations in your application.- Find out beforehand what salary is usual in your industry. You can do this on the basis of various websites. The salary depends on your degree, your existing work experience and many other factors. Make sure to do extensive research, as too high salary expectations can lead to you not being invited for an interview. Too low offers, however, are disadvantageous for you.
- Be sure to also consider the size of the company and the location when making salary expectations, as there can also be large differences in salary.
- The salary is always given as gross annual income. In addition, these usually refer to 12 monthly salaries. Alternatively, you can include additional special payments such as vacation and Christmas bonuses. However, make sure to state this explicitly.
- Do not make any statements about additional benefits. These are usually clarified in person.
