FM 2020: How to adjust transfer and salary budget

You cannot set the amount of money you have available for player salaries and transfers yourself in Football Manager 2020. However, you can cleverly divide the existing budget - and that can be very important.

The sometimes dizzying sums in world soccer are replicated in Football Manager 2020. But even in the lower price range, it is important to know all the tools that the game gives.

FM 2020: Adjust budget easily via slider

Under "Transfers" you can see in the upper right corner how much money you can spend on transfers and salaries. However, it can happen that you have plenty of salary budget left, but hardly any transfer budget. Likewise, of course, there is the reverse case.

• Abhilfe creates the slider, with the help of which you can distribute the budget differently.
• This way you can move, for example, a million euros from the salary budget to the transfer budget.
• This mechanic basically works in both directions. This gives you enough flexibility in transfers and contract extensions.

Should you consider the total budget too low, you can make a request to the board. This can be found under "Finances", but is not always available. And if it is, there is no guarantee of an actual increase. This depends on the situation in detail: when was the budget last increased, how is the club currently financially and what other investments are planned?Still, it costs nothing to ask and if the successful request makes an actually impossible transfer possible, it was worth it.
