Twitter: Setting filters - how it works

Not all Twitter messages are really interesting for you. However, due to the large number of tweets posted online every day, it's difficult to manually keep things in order so that only relevant information is displayed. Fortunately, Twitter's message filter helps you do that.

With the message filter, you set exactly which messages you don't see.

Twitter: Activate and set filter

In addition to tweets, you see numerous messages on Twitter, such as mentions of your Twitter account or new followers. If many of these messages are inconsequential to you, you can block them using filters.
  1. Open twitter.com and click "Messages" in the top left menu.
  2. Then click "Settings" in the top right above the messages.
  3. Open the "Messages" section in the left bar.
  4. You'll see three options there.
  5. Quality filters allow you to filter out messages that have been created automatically or twice.
  6. Muted words allow you to specify specific words or sequences of words to filter messages with.
  7. Advanced filters determine whether or not messages from specific accounts get through to you.
  8. Advanced filters can be customized again so that, for example, messages from new accounts or accounts that do not follow you are no longer displayed.
Simply summarized, you can thus use these options to greatly minimize messages from fake profiles and people you are not interested in.
