iOS 12: Group messages - here's how to do it

Since iOS 12, Apple users can now also have messages grouped in their preview, so that they are not all automatically displayed chronologically. The feature also allows users to choose which way the grouping should work and how each app should organize its grouping.

iOS 12: How to set up message grouping

To edit the grouping options, you first need to go to your smartphone's settings. There you will find the entry "Messages".

1. Once you have reached the corresponding menu within the settings, you can now select individual installed apps for which settings should be made.
2. Once you have decided on an app, tap the entry and scroll all the way down.
3. There you will now find the options "Automatic", "Off" and "By App".
4. About the automatic grouping iOS decides in the background, which messages should be combined into a group and decides very smart.

6. „Nach App” ermöglicht es Ihnen, größere Gruppierung innerhalb einer App vorzunehmen, sodass immer nur eine einzige App im Overlay angezeigt wird.

8. Ebenfalls möglich ist es inzwischen, Mitteilungen auch komplett stumm zu stellen, sobald diese eingegangen sind.
9. So erhalten Sie eine ganze Gruppe von Nachrichten zukünftig ohne Aufleuchten des Displays.
