Jira: Filters - how to create filters
Jira is a program used to work more efficiently in project management. Numerous tools are designed to facilitate the management of tasks. In addition, the program has other features that make your team collaboration even more effective.
How to create a filter in Jira
With a filter in Jira, you can display tickets, for example, and narrow them down. This way, users can filter all given information within a ticket accordingly. At the same time, it is also possible to subscribe to certain filters in order to be informed about them on a regular basis. It is also possible to set that certain filters are only visible to certain persons and are therefore linked to authorizations. Creating such a filter is done in just a few steps.- First, select the menu item "Search for tasks" in Jira.
- The search page then opens. Here you can make a choice between the standard and the advanced search.
- In the standard search, you can add any fields via a drop-down menu and "More information".
- However, if you click on "Advanced", then you can still specify your search here using "JQL commands".
- If your search query is ready, then click on "Save as". Then your search is saved as a filter, where you can then use it for gadgets and also boards.
- If you want to customize the filter later, you can do this via "Details". There you can customize the owner, create permissions as well as subscribe to the filter.
- As the owner of this filter, you can also make changes at any time by simply saving or also discarding them.
