Creating Jira filters - how it works

Jira is a web application used for project management as well as bug management and issue handling in software development. To help you work as effectively as possible, Jira is equipped with a wide range of tools. This includes an extensive filter function.

How to create your own filters in Jira

If you want to search your data according to certain criteria, the best way to do this is with a filter. In addition to predefined filters, you can also create and save your own customized filters in Jira.
  1. Call up Jira and log in with your user data.
  2. On the overview page, click on "Tasks" in the navigation and select the "Search for tasks" option in the menu.
  3. On the search page you have an extra navigation with various filter options, through which you can specify, for example, in which project should be searched, what type should be considered or what status is important. In addition, you can add your own search terms via a text field.
  4. Set the filters accordingly and then click next to "Search" on the "Save as" option.
  5. Name the filter and click "Save".
You can favorite the filters you have created via the star symbol and thus add them to the DeepL access. Zudem bietet Jira die Möglichkeit, Filter auch direkt im Dashboard abzulegen.
