Zoom: Virtual background desired? How to make it work

Video meetings are currently more popular than ever. However, their strength can also be a disadvantage, as a lot is revealed visually. Virtual backgrounds ensure anonymous conditions.

Zoom gives you the opportunity to present yourself in front of any backdrop. Even better: This doesn't just mean static images.

Zoom: How to activate the virtual background

In the PC client, proceed as follows:

1. Click on the arrow next to the camera icon.
2. Then you will already see the function you are looking for: "Choose a virtual background".
3. There you have the choice between an image or a video.
4. Open the desired file.

The better the camera and lighting conditions, the better you will be inserted into the virtual backdrop. A contrast between you (or your clothes) and the background is also an advantage.
